Biofeedback is a technique developed by scientist to help people learn to control various bodily functions, such as heart rate, which are not usually under our conscious control. You begin by attaching highly sensitive sensors – nowadays, a simple clip on the earlobe – which detect tiny changes in the body. This information is then processed by your computer or other device, and you receive information (feedback) about your body (bio) on the screen. In essence, biofeedback gives you the means to use your thoughts to control your body.
